Pikurasa:

I, Krish Pandya (aka MostlyK), am applying for Sugar Labs Oversight Board. Over the past year, I've worked with Sugar Labs, focusing mainly on Sugar, sugar-toolkit and Sugar-AI. Maintenance, modernization and long-term sustainability.

My motivation is simple. Sugar should stay relevant and usable as time marches on. That means maintaining code we already have, modernizing where it's needed, and bringing in current technologies like LLMs, computer vision models, TTS, etc. without losing sight of the original education mission. I want Sugar to grow into the next decade instead of aging out of it.

My vision is where new contributors can onboard easily, understand the stack, and ship improvements we need without friction. OLPC users and students relying on Sugar shouldn't be left behind as the world moves forward. If we want Sugar to matter ten years from now, we have to rebuild some of it today. My goal is to help Sugar Labs evolve, by strengthening it so it lasts.

While I would love to see some of the newer contributors join the ranks of our oversight board, I also think it is important to have some continuity -- to help ground Sugar Labs to the pedagogy that motivated its founding in 2008. I continue to learn as a member of this learning organization and, while some family issues have precluded my full engagement over the past few months, things are looking up for 2026/2027.

I will focus on supporting and expanding the opportunities we provide for mentorship; more outreach -- perhaps the first ever Sugar/Music Blocks "DemoScene"; and help move our technical stack into the 2020s.

Discussion: Uploading the image, caused a resource error; forgot to go through the convertor. Going through the convertor first does better, but it does work. Elwin is introducing breakpoints.

The last sample had some extra sounds of kids' voices.

Discussion: We agreed that it would be nice to keep the test results in a table, so that they can be reviewed for quality based on LLM-params (right word?) and prompts (e.g. more or less strict).

Muhammad found something that helps with pitch stabilization. He will do some testing.

Ideas from that meet (copied from the element room):
Two shared libraries will be created from scratch:

* one for C objects and reusable GTK widgets
* one for Python widgets and wrappers
* Each will be developed and tested in its own repository with simple Python example scripts to validate usage and encourage modular, incremental development.

Meson's shared library template from GNOME Builder can be used as the base for setting up both libraries.

The separation helps maintain clear boundaries between C and Python components, makes debugging and CI easier

Next steps:

I will set up the C repo scaffold with Meson
I will set up the Python-side wrapper or extension (likely using ctypes or cffi)
regroup once scaffolds are working, and add minimal working examples to test flow

Devin: We can 0Auth with Google Workspace, if we want.

Discussion: I would love some feedback on the image feature for https://mbassistant.streamlit.app/. Now it can assist with not so complex images and tell the users what exactly to do. We can potentially change from 2.0 flash to gemma which is OS model and performs better than 2.0-flash.

Response: From what I understand this portal is for people testing SugarAI so they can test out the service, correct? But I read somewhere that you also have this has a docker container? So wouldn't it just make sense to provide the docker image so they can test it out themselves?

Cont. It is a docker container. The container opens up the end points.

The current docker config:
You can run the docker image it will open /ask, /ask-llm (rag and without-rag query) to the LLM. Not Secured so any requests get passed through.

This Updated System:
Opens the same end-points but it doesn't give out results without authentication.
So we have 1- Admin Login Page
2 - Contributors Request Page
3- Admin Management Page at the same ip:8000/request-keys, /admin-login,/admin.
