==SweetProxy an editorial whitelist by parents ==
SweetProxy is a web service to be developed for Google Application Engine. Programming language is python.

It offers an interface for (registered) editors to add and delete entries and a simple validating functions offering 0 or 1, no and yes for requested domains. It may be used as an external service for squid and may be incorporated to activities with internet access as well.

===Background===
In Germany most kids do not have someone to guide their first steps in the internet. Parents are often simply swamped by their kids using the internet. Some of them are still happy it simply works and do not care about virus defense or inadequate content. Also teachers sometimes expose children to dangerous content. There is a quality whitelist in Germany operated by [http://fragfinn.de FragFinn.de] unfortunately it is nit free and can be used only with hardware (special routers) or on windows PC's. Even it is sponsored and supported by the ministry of family there is now way to use it in open source environments.

===Idea===
A web service parents, educators and teachers may register to. It will be organized as some kind of ring-of-trust. Registered users may add, change or delete entries to the whitelist. Comments are published in some kind of portal as a reference for interested persons.

Contributors are welcome! My software developing periods ended some ten years ago and - despite trying - it is really hard work for me to catch up ... please contact me if interested in contributing to this project.

Sugar does advocate the concepts of activities - you learn through doing, so if you want more learning you want more doing. So the Sugar Labs team wants to get engaged at Linuxtag:

* We will have a booth at Linuxtag, like we had last year, more information can be found below.

* Tony Anderson shows a complete demo school setup, including school server and 3 XO's. We will try to integrate some netbooks running Sugar On A Stick in a schoolserver environment.

German skills are welcome - but not needed. Ideally a shift is two people, but given the space reserved at the booth size I think we can get away with one as well. Helping at the booth means answering questions regarding Sugar and Sugar Labs and the largest deployer of Sugar One Laptop Per Child (OLPC). Of course you don't have to be an expert in all of the areas. Furthermore we will have hardware for demoing Sugar and flashing Sugar on a Stick (Soas) on request.

People helping at the booth will get a Linuxtag ticket. We are also allowed to order some guest tickets but of course helping out at the booth is the preferred choice.

The 17th LinuxTag presents all the latest for professional users, decision makers, developers, beginners and the Linux community — May 11 to 14 at the Berlin Fairgrounds. == Sugar Activities ==
Sugar does advocate the concepts of activities - you learn through doing, so if you want more learning you want more doing. So the Sugar Labs team wants to get engaged at Linuxtag:

* We will have a booth at Linuxtag, like we had last year, more information can be found below.

* Tony Anderson shows a complete demo school setup, including school server and 3 XO's. We will try to integrate some netbooks running Sugar On A Stick in a schoolserver environment.

== Sugar Booth ==
Please list your availability if you are interested in helping with the booth. Or if you already know which shifts you want to take, feel free to add yourself in the second table. German skills are welcome - but not needed. Ideally a shift is two people, but given the space reserved at the booth size I think we can get away with one as well. Helping at the booth means answering questions regarding Sugar and Sugar Labs and the largest deployer of Sugar One Laptop Per Child (OLPC). Of course you don't have to be an expert in all of the areas. Furthermore we will have hardware for demoing Sugar and flashing Sugar on a Stick (Soas) on request.

People helping at the booth will get a Linuxtag ticket. We are also allowed to order some guest tickets but of course helping out at the booth is the preferred choice.

== Sugar Activities ==
Sugar does advocate the concepts of activities - you learn through doing, so if you want more learning you want more doing. So the Sugar Labs team wants to get engaged at Linuxtag:

* We will have a booth at Linuxtag, like we had last year, more information can be found below.

* Tony Anderson shows a complete demo school setup, including school server and 3 XO's. We will try to integrate some netbooks running Sugar On A Stick in a schoolserver environment.

Please list your availability if you are interested in helping with the booth. Or if you already know which shifts you want to take, feel free to add yourself in the second table. German skills are welcome - but not needed. Ideally a shift is two people, but given the space reserved at the booth size I think we can get away with one as well. Helping at the booth means answering questions regarding Sugar and Sugar Labs and the largest deployer of Sugar One Laptop Per Child (OLPC). Of course you don't have to be an expert in all of the areas. Furthermore we will have hardware for demoing Sugar and flashing Sugar on a Stick (Soas) on request.

People helping at the booth will get a Linuxtag ticket. We are also allowed to order some guest tickets but of course helping out at the booth is the preferred choice.

== Sugar Activities ==
Sugar does advocate the concepts of activities - you learn through doing, so if you want more learning you want more doing. So the Sugar Labs team wants to get engaged at Linuxtag:

* We will have a booth at Linuxtag, like we had last year, more information can be found below.

* Sebastian Dziallas, one of the main figures behind Sugar on a Stick will be talking about leveraging communities. The talk [http://www.linuxtag.org/2010/en/program/free-conference/wednesday/details.html?talkid=382 The Open Source Way: Leveraging Communities] will be Friday, 11.06.2010, 10:30-11:00 o'clock in the room Europa II.

== Sugar Booth ==
Please list your availability if you are interested in helping with the booth. Or if you already know which shifts you want to take, feel free to add yourself in the second table. German skills are welcome - but not needed. Ideally a shift is two people, but given the space reserved at the booth size I think we can get away with one as well. Helping at the booth means answering questions regarding Sugar and Sugar Labs and the largest deployer of Sugar One Laptop Per Child (OLPC). Of course you don't have to be an expert in all of the areas. Furthermore we will have hardware for demoing Sugar and flashing Sugar on a Stick (Soas) on request.

People helping at the booth will get a Linuxtag ticket.

We have a coops (Germans would say Kabüffchen as a diminutive of Kabuff) at the booths. As this is only meant for booth equipment all the other belongings like jackets, luggage etc can be stored at the wardrobe without any cost.

Power and Internet will be provided by LinuxTag and Messe Berlin for the project booths. What we need are:
* extension cords
* long network cables
* switches

Not permitted by Linuxtag:
* wireless access points (You are not permitted to operate your private wireless LAN. Please take this serious. There will be several site surveys to ensure this.) - Mesh networking is allowed though
* coffeemakers, kettles and cooking stuff
* connect visitors to the project's network
