Title: I.T Enabled Academia

Abstract:
In today’s institution, a lot of human power and time is wasted. The IT Enabled academia has the following features:teleconferencing for lectures,create and take up tests,automatically generate timetables,manage feedbacks, hold discussions and download study material.Students and teachers can compare their performances with others through a number of statistical analysis of data.Thus taking learning one step ahead.

This is my first step to open source programming.I feel I am upto the task because I have done a similar project for IBM which was a virtual class room project.Here am just planning to take it to the next level by improving the existing ideas and also including some newer ones.

Name of my project-I.T Enabled Academia

Purpose of project:

· Online tests can be created, taken and solutions can be provided online.

· Create discussion forums online to clear doubts and also share new ideas and theories.

· Downloadable study material for all classes to be uploaded to the server for students’ aid.

· Online application for leave for students and professors and automatic rescheduling of

classes.

· Attendance details of the students will also be available online.

· Generate time tables for all classes based on availability of the professors.

Technologies used:Java,Java script,AJAX,JASPER,Tomcat,Mysql.

Time Line: 5 weeks would be fine as i already have experience doing a similar project.

week-1: User management and Class management.

week-2:File management,Exams.

week-3:Discussion forums and reports.

week-4:Exams creation and taking up them.

Week-5:Marks,attendance management and conferencing for lectures.

I'm confident that I am upto the task as i have already done a similar project for IBM where the activities of an entire educational institutions can be done online and have also presented it to them directly.That project included most of the modules i have specified here but now i have also added conferencing module which am alredy working on for a different project.So i should be able to complete the project successfully.

Also i am obsessed with web programming so much that i work over night and my mom gets worried.I feel this project would raise the level of education to make learning easier and taking it to the next level.

One thing i learnt during my childhood ..

I learnt that I should always listen to my mom..She used to advice me not to play with stray dogs but I used to feed them in her absence but then one day a dog..It was supposed to be my friend but it chased my all the way down the street..Man mom is always right:)
