Welcome to Krish

Our newest board member is Krish Pandya. He has been leading the GTK4 transition efforts and has made numerous contributes to our AI infrastructure.

GSoC

We are registered as an Org for 2026. Now we need to flesh out our [Project Ideas](https://github.com/sugarlabs/GSoC/blob/master/Ideas-2026.md)

We are interested in both maintenence (we have many outstanding needs) and new features (Google is especially interested in AI). Let's present a well-rounded collection of ideas.

AI policy

Here is the Google memo re AI contributions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jglptdn_DovOxjwuhzORn3QhYoeBcToS7ymk3IIWHKY/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.ib59d98mnz6q

Sumit and Krish wrote an AI policy for our [Contributors Guide](https://github.com/sugarlabs/sugar-docs/blob/master/src/contributing.md)

If you use AI to generate code for a pull request, you must include the prompts and the full conversation history from the AI tool (such as Claude Code, Codex, or GitHub Copilot etc). Including this information will help us understand your approach to solving the problem and facilitate a faster and more effective review of your pull request. It also allows us to provide more detailed feedback on how to improve your contribution.

Other

Next meeting, when Devin is back, we can brainstorm ideas for 2026 beyond GSoC.

  • Ibiam has been surfacing some fund-raising ideas
  • Devin and I had talked about a MB day of some sort

Also note that Devin has been working on getting us more AWS credits (with help from Ibiam and MostlyK)
