NOTE: This version uses previous Sugar release. Collaboration is broken

  • Install package 'sucrose-0.90' with apt or Ubuntu Software Center.
  • Only comes with pippy and turtleart
  • You'll need to install the remaining individual activities by downloading them from http://activities.sugarlabs.org/ and installing each within a terminal:
sugar-install-bundle activity.xo
  • To turn off screensaver and power management:
terminal:
xset s off
xset -dpms

Do updates right away
System Settings/Network to configure wireless AP
Applications/Education/sugar drag sugar XO icon to desktop
Properties (right click) change command to sugar-emulator -f (full screen)
  • Sugar only comes with turtleart and pippy
  • [[1]] can be drag dropped to the journal from a USB key or by going to a terminal and doing:
sugar-install-bundle activity.xo

This allows installation of many activities from [[2]] including the following:

physics
terminal
edit
irc
chat

Sugar Desktop 0.90 with Trisquel

Trisquel is Ubuntu based and works well. (Trisquel 4.1 is based on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Trisquel 5, on Ubuntu 11.04.
