GSoC+DMP

  • We have taken on five mentees for DMP.

Reminder that mentors and mentees for GSoC and DMP should be putting together schedules for the summer. The GSoC coding period begins next week.

Safwan Sayeed created a [template for dev-blogs](https://www.sugarlabs.org/news/template/gsoc-25-sa-fw-an-weekX) for the summer.

Each week of a student's coding period, the student is required to provide a report of their work in the form of a blog. Students should:

  • Clone the www-v2 repo.
  • Create a new branch.
  • Copy the template to a new file.
  • Use the template to write the blog.
  • Commit the new file.
  • Push the branch.
  • Make a PR with the blog.
  • Once merged, it will appear on the website.

Many people have asked if it's ok to blog elsewhere. While it's fine to publish a blog elsewhere (e.g. Medium, personal blog, etc.), you're required to maintain reports on the main site (www-v2). For any other sites, you can write "Originally published at [SL URL]".

Discuss a single-mentee pilot of "Sugar Summer of Code"

We have one candidate for this year.

The broad strokes are:

  • same timeline as GSoC
  • same goals
  • small stipend
  • certificate
