Fractionauts, as loosely suggested by its name, is a game about exploring space and solving mathematical problems involving fraction operations. The user takes on the role of a space explorer, and in order to move through space they must fill their rocket ship with the correct amount of fuel. Each level contains a problem, presented to the player through a goal amount of fluid they are trying to achieve. In addition to this problem, the player is supplied a collection of beakers which are already partially filled with fuel. The player is required to mix these partially filled beakers into the main beaker, with the goal being to fill the target beaker to the goal amount. Description
Fractionnauts is a rocket themed educational game targeted towards 4th grade students interested in learning how to perform basic arithmetic with fractions.
Current Status
- Users can run game on a linux machine with dependency's installed.
- Users can install and run game on OLPC
- Current level, score, and other user metrics are saved locally on machine when user quits game.
