btw, school server is (according to [[School Server]]) just a general-purpose server, what web engine it should use; the idea is having this features in 0.86 w/o much coding in sugar, so all stuff should be done on server side(like AMO does) and using Browse as a client. The XS is more than a general purpose server. It has a lot of capabilities that you may not be aware of. Please see http://wiki.laptop.org/go/School_server and http://wiki.laptop.org/go/XS_Release_Notes . Also it is worth looking at http://lists.laptop.org/pipermail/server-devel/ for more information.
