It would be very helpful to harmonize certain functional elements between the Sugar Labs wiki and the OLPC wiki so that usage of certain devel-specialized wiki-text elements transfers easily from one to the other (TRAC templates, stuff like that). I've made a brief first pass at templates (and some categories) via facilitated copy-paste (see User:Cjl/Sandbox).

A more experienced Wikipedian (hint, hint) should tackle plugins and extensions as listed on OLPC Wiki, especially traclink, iframe, do you know anyone that could handle that? Determining exactly what "special sauce" makes parser-function templates work would allow re-use fo the GoogleTrans-xx series of templates Cjl 18:16, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

: This is quite a good idea. I would add Semantic MediaWiki, which we are going to add to the OLPCWiki as well, and which will make data sharing across different sites easier, by bot or otherwise.  There are single files needed for each of those extensions; I can post them for anyone with access to the mwiki directory to install. Do you know any way to bulk transfer templates from wiki to wiki?  If no faster method is known, I've parsed a list of OLPC wiki templates (many will be applicable with minimal modifications) and placed it in User:Cjl/Sandbox. This page can facilite multi-window copy/paste review and transfer of templates.  Cjl 01:50, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

I transferred some heavily-used ones manually using multi-window copy/paste.  We need to recruit some more sophisticated wiki-help to get things like plug-ins and extensions synched up so that (for instance, "templates with parser function", e.g. Template:GoogleTrans-en) transfer over smoothly.  I pinged SJ about it, but he's busy.  Maybe one of the wiki-admins are savvy enough, it's a bit over my head.  I'm going quiet for a while, on the road, back in a week or two.  Cjl 17:04, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
