Open Badges proposal contemplates to open channels for resources to flow to active contributors in need that have been awarded with a yearly Open Badge. All Badges have by default an optional monthly stipend of US$ 500 attached. [2]

The decision of receiving the Stipend is completely personal and optional; each active contributor nominated shall state it's decision in the list nominees before the set deadline.
