The tuned circuit capacitor, two sheets of aluminium foil approximately 10cm x 10cm separated by cling wrap gave a resonant frequency of approximately 1MHz with the above inductor. | |||
Still required are the diode and the 0.1uF capacitor. It would be possible to construct the capacitor in the same way, the tuning capacitor is estimated at 100pF (10^-10 F) and the coupling capacitor needed is 0.1uF (10^-7 F). Tightly rolling the layers would reduce the plate separation so it might be possible to get a workable coupling capacitor with less that one thousand times the area. | |||
