This page is a work in progress. It will replace InfrastructureTeam when it's operative, which should in the first weeks of July.

Solarsail

All the Sugarlabs services are currently hosted on a single machine. We will distribute them more as soon as we raise funding to buy more servers or someone donates them.

Hardware

  • Sun Fire T2000
  • 8 Niagara cores at 1.2GHz each
  • 32GB RAM
  • 2x72GB SAS 10krpm disks in RAID-1 with two hot spares
  • Ubuntu Server 7.10.

Location

The machine is located at the MIT Media Lab, room E15.

Sysadmins

  • Bernardo Innocenti
  • Ivan Krstic
  • Noah Kantrowitz

Backups

We are considering a couple of possibilities:

  • MIT provides a backup service for a few bucks per machine per month via Tivoli
  • Harvard Computer Society filer

Shell accounts

Setup workload will be distributed between the sysadmins and a few members of the core team.
