Sugar Desktop 0.90.1 on Ubuntu 11.10

NOTE: The current Ubuntu version uses the previous version of Sugar 0.90. Collaboration is broken

Install package 'sucrose-0.90' with apt or Ubuntu Software Center.
Only comes with pippy and turtleart
You'll need to install the remaining individual activities by downloading them from http://activities.sugarlabs.org/ and installing each within a terminal:

sugar-install-bundle activity.xo

terminal:
xset s off
xset -dpms

Sugar 0.90 is NOT RECOMMENDED

Hints:

Do updates right away

System Settings/Network to configure wireless AP

Applications/Education/sugar drag sugar XO icon to desktop

Properties (right click) change command to sugar-emulator -f (full screen)

Sugar only comes with turtlear and pippy

[[1]] can be drag dropped to the journal from a USB key or by going to a terminal and doing:

sugar-install-bundle activity.xo

This allows installation of many activities from ASLO (surf start new screen/activities) including the following:

physics 8
terminal 31
edit 8
surf 115
irc 10
chat 72

You can also install activities from a terminal with:

sugar-install-bundle activity.xo
