The Oversight Board
The first election of members to the Oversight Board occurred from 17–31 August, 2008. The elected members of the Oversight Board are:
- Marco Pesenti Gritti (Red Hat)
- Chris Ball (One Laptop per Child)
- Walter Bender (Community member)
- Bernardo Innocenti (Community member)
- Tomeu Vizoso (OLPC contractor)
- Greg Dekoenigsberg (Red Hat)
- David Farning (Community member)
Mission
The mission of the oversight board is to ensure that the Sugar Labs community has clarity of purpose and the means to collaborate in achieving its goals.

Additional roles within Sugar Labs
Ombudsman: A neutral party with whom anyone (member or non-member) can consult with anonymously. The ombudsman will make a monthly report to the Oversight Board and the community. Bert Freudenberg is Ombudsman (Please email ombudsman (at) sugarlabs.org).
System administrator: ex officio, nonvoting member of the Infrastructure Committee
Treasurer: ex officio, nonvoting member of the Finance Committee
