Sugar Network version cycle: | 1.0 |
This work was initially started by an International Research and Development Team affiliated with Sugar Labs Perú as part of the Hexoquinasa Project initiative in order to attend the needs identified during field work on Perú from 2007 to date.
Summary
These are the major goals of Sugar Network:

Try it
Note that current development version is not assumed to be perfect in all cases.
There are two types of Sugar Network access:
- Sugar Network clients.
Regular access for most of users. There are several clients that might have different audience:- Web UI,
client is mostly targeting to low age users; - Contributor Hub,
full featured access for content creators and providers as well as experienced users.
- Web UI,
- Sugar Network API.
Low level access for various programmable usage. See API home page for more details.
Easy way to try Sugar Network clients is Sugar Network testing Web sites with data synchronized with the Activity Library:
- network-testing.sugarlabs.org, for Web UI;
- network-testing.sugarlabs.org/hub, for Contributor Hub.
Write access is not yet implemented for testing Web access. To discover all implemented functionality, use developer server where anonymous users have administrative privileges:
- network-devel.sugarlabs.org, for Web UI;
- network-devel.sugarlabs.org/hub, for Contributor Hub.
Sugar Network clients can be used from local applications. Local applications have extra features, such as launch software by one click, or, seamless Journal integration. There are several distribution options:
- Install Sugar from the Sweets Distribution and enable Sugar Network integration in the Sugar Shell;
- On XO laptops, use one of reference images;
- Or, on existing Sugar installation, install Sugar Network activity.
