On Ubuntu: install the "cogito" package and used cg-clone git://dev.laptop.org/sugar-jhbuild
On Ubuntu (and probably Debian): make sure to do "update-alternatives --config git" to make this command work (jhbuild also depends on "git" pointing to the right thing)
