Sugar on Ubuntu
The Sugar (sucrose) packages for Ubuntu provide a Sugar environment that is easy to install and can be configured as an X session in gdm or run in a window with sugar-emulator.

It is a much simpler platform to set up for activity developers, than jhbuild.

There are extra packages in a PPA, including activities that could not be included in the Ubuntu archive due to licence issues, as well as updated abiword packages.

0.81.4
The ubuntu packages were updated to the 0.81.4 Sucrose development release by James Munro in a PPA.

Sugar on the next Ubuntu release
Intrepid, the next Ubuntu release due out in October, should have packages synced from debian. The ubuntu team will liaise with the debian team to get the appropriate versions synced, either 0.82 or an 0.82.x point release if there are any at that stage.

If necessary we can continue to maintain further Sucrose releases via a PPA, after intrepid is released.
