Please test the Write activity and abiword on Fedora 25; does the cursor start blinking rapidly after the first key is pressed? If so, a known problem continues. For details, see

I looked at the livemedia-creator soas f25 I built yesterday :

  • The cursor in write 97 looks normal. It flashes about 1 sec apart

Yes after typing "test" and saving and starting from journal

Thanks. The problem varies in impact depending on several factors to do with hardware. Either your hardware doesn't reproduce the problem, or it is fixed in Fedora 25. I'm inclining toward the former. To be sure, could you try a Fedora 24 SoaS on the same hardware and see if the problem occurs? Write activity uses Abiword underneath. When the problem affects Write, it also affects Abiword. Abiword can be persuaded to make the problem worse, using `--gtk-debug=updates` option.
