Walter:
Suggested that meeting notes can be created collaboratively — everyone can summarize what they discussed in Element, and then one person can compile and add those summaries to the wiki.
Devin:
Discussed the trimming widget with Haroon.
Advised others to keep familiarising themselves with the Music Blocks project by making small projects.
Haroon:
Mentioned that the trimmer functionality is no longer needed (as decided earlier).
Asked whether the related code should be kept or removed.
Requested reviewer access (to be able to close issues, review, and merge pull requests).
Explained Music Blocks v4 (in response to Syed’s question):
Music Blocks v4 is a complete rewrite of the project using TypeScript and React, focusing on improving performance, usability, and maintainability.
It introduces a modular architecture with draggable “bricks” for code blocks, a redesigned workspace, and a modernized interface that aligns with the Sugar Labs design philosophy.
The goal of MB v4 is to make the codebase more extensible, readable, and easier for contributors to work with.
Syed:
Added a search feature to the Author’s Page (PR submitted).
Asked about ways to help with the upcoming elections.
Asked what Music Blocks v4 is.
Suryaansh:
Clarified with Walter about writing and maintaining meeting notes on the wiki.
Discussed the meaning of “making a project” and how contributors can engage with Music Blocks through small, hands-on projects.
Mentioned that Element (the team chat platform) is not just for meetings but also a place for ongoing discussion and collaboration.
