Conference Discussion

Sumit asked if travel costs for the DMP India conference could be covered . Devin said Sugar Labs has around $5000, with $2000 yearly expenses so funds are tight. They agreed to decline unless travel and stay are sponsored. MostlyK shared that GNOME is sponsoring his GTK4 talk at GNOME Asia.

Elections

Elections are delayed. Safwan has offered help but Devin needs to adjust user permissions on the wiki to delegate properly. Ibiam may know how to update them on the wiki.

AWS Report

AWS is stable. Around $5.5k in credits remain until July 2026. MostlyK and Mebin plan to add central authentication post exams. Team discussed around reaching out to a dedicated AI provider for better models. MostlyK will list providers like Gemini and Hugging Face. Sumit shared Logan Kilpatrick’s contact for Gemini sponsorship.

Sugar Systems

Sebastian’s email alias failed, causing loss of somosazucar.org renewal. The domain expired and is going to auction. Sebastian will personally bid to recover it. Sumit suggested Cloudflare for reliability. Devin noted Sunjammer is out of space, affecting email and lists. They agreed to move to Google Workspace (already available free). Sebastian will help with migration.

Sustainability

Sumit said revenue generation is key to solving recurring issues that we are facing right now. Devin agreed, emphasizing the need for planned system transitions and sustainability.

Suggestion was to approach improvement in stages, focusing on systems that we can maintain well.
