Mate 1.2 installed in SoaS-v6
Install SoaS-v6 live to Hd
- D/L: http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/spins/linux/releases/16/Spins/i686/Fedora-16-i686-Live-SoaS.iso
- Boot Fedora-16-i686-Live-SoaS
su password liveinst in root terminal
- Boot installed Soas
- firstboot - set user name etc
- choose sugar name and colors
- Start Root terminal
install Mate-desktop for f16
- MATE is a fork of Gnome2
- D/L: http://mate-desktop.org/install/#fedora
- still in root terminal:
yum install http://dl.dropbox.com/u/49862637/Mate-desktop/mate-desktop-fedora/releases/16/noarch/mate-desktop-release-16-5.fc16.noarch.rpm yum groupinstall MATE-Desktop
- Logout sugar / login Mate
- Nice Gnome2 variant with sugar-emulator
